Kindermusik
It’s never too early to start learning and loving music!
Welcome to Kindermusik at the Benson School of Music! This engaging and interactive program is designed to introduce children to the wonderful world of music, right from the start! Through fun-filled group classes, we nurture your child’s musical abilities while fostering their cognitive, social and emotional development.
Mini Maestros Piano Group Class
The Mini Maestros Piano Group program at the Benson School of Music is an exciting and engaging musical journey designed specifically for children ages 3.5 to 5 years (not starting Kindergarten) and 5-6 years (Kindergarten and Grade 1).
Mini Maestros builds a solid foundation for a lifelong love of music. Classes are carefully crafted to engage both children and adults in interactive and enjoyable musical activities. Each session is designed to stimulate creativity and nurture a deep appreciation for music.
Mini Maestros is an adult-and-child class, and grown-ups play a pivotal role as musical mentors for their children. By actively participating in the learning process, they not only strengthen the grownup-child bond but also model a positive attitude towards music, inspiring their little ones to develop a passion for melody and harmony.
Class Age:
(1) Piano Sprouts - ages 3.5 - 5 years (not starting Kindergarten)
(2) Piano Pals - ages 5-6 years (Kindergarten+Gr 1)
Tuition for Mini Maestros:
10 monthly payments of $77.50
$50 materials fee (covers all music, studio tote bag, binder)
$50 tuition deposit due upon registration (deducted from yearly tuition fee)

Program Structure:
Weekly 45-minute Group Classes: The Mini Maestros program consists of weekly small group lessons specifically tailored to the needs and abilities of children ages 3.5 to 6.
Led by experienced instructors, these lessons will be interactive and engaging, incorporating singing, movement, rhythm activities, and piano exploration.
Note about Piano Sprouts: One grown up must attend class with the student. Because of the interactive nature of Mini Maestros, we highly encourage a 1:1 grown-up/child ratio each week.
Songbirds Group Voice Program
Our Songbirds Group Class (ages 3-5 years, not starting Kindergarten) is designed to provide young singers with an engaging and supportive environment to explore the world of music. Led by our knowledgeable and energetic faculty, this program offers a dynamic group setting where children can develop their musical abilities while having fun.
Songbirds Group Class emphasizes the benefits of learning music in a group setting. Children will have the opportunity to interact with their peers, fostering social skills, teamwork, and a sense of community. Our curriculum is specifically tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 3.5 - 5. Our classes incorporate age-appropriate activities, games, and songs to make learning engaging and enjoyable.

Musical Theatre Enrichment Program
The Musical Theatre Enrichment Program at the Benson School of Music is an exciting opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of musical theatre. Led by our voice/piano teacher and musical theatre enthusiast, Erin Lee, this program aims to provide a safe and supportive space for students to explore and develop their skills in true triple-threat fashion. Students will have the opportunity to hone their vocal technique, choreography, and acting skills. Alongside their performance skills, students will build confidence that will benefit them both on stage and in all aspects of their lives.
Class Age(s)
Rising Stars: ages 5-9 years (K - Gr 4)
Shining Stars: ages 10-14 years (Gr 5 - Gr 9)
Schedule:
Rising Stars: SUNDAYS, 12:00 - 12:45pm
Shining Stars: SUNDAYS, 1:00 - 1:45pm
Tuition:
$40 monthly “add-on” cost for Benson School of Music private students
$70 monthly for students not enrolled with the Benson School of music for private lessons
Class Features:
Vocal Technique: The program focuses on developing students vocal technique, helping them build a strong foundation for musical theatre performance. Through vocal warm-ups, exercises, and repertoire study, students will learn proper breath control, projection, vocal range expansion, and interpretation of musical theatre songs.
Choreography and Movement: Students will also receive guidance in choreography and movement to enhance their performance skills.
Acting Skills: The program emphasizes the development of acting skills for musical theatre performance.
Confidence Building: The program recognizes the importance of building confidence in students, both on stage and off. Through supportive instruction, positive reinforcement, and performance experiences, students will develop a sense of self-assurance that will extend beyond the stage and positively impact their personal and professional lives.
Program Structure:
Regular Sessions: The program consists of regular sessions where students will receive instruction in vocal technique, choreography, and acting skills.
Repertoire Selection: Students will work on a selection of musical theatre songs and scenes appropriate to their skill level and interests.
Guest Workshops: The program may also include guest workshops led by industry professionals, providing students with additional insights and perspectives on musical theatre performance.
